  • Emails or phone calls promising you that they can give you a top ranking on Google.

What you can do to determine if the email or phone call is a scam is to take things slow with the caller or when replying to the email. 

Scams are designed to portray a sense of urgency, slow it down, and ask questions to better understand the person who’s requesting information from you. 

Think about whose calling and what exact information are they looking for.

  • Charge your money or ask for personal/credit card information
  • Manage your business online profile
  • Offer to help improve your business' SEO
  • Ask for passwords/verification code
  • call using robocall
